Accessibility Statement

Skin Trust is committed to ensuring this website is accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities.

Our Commitment

Skin Trust uses the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA as its engineering target. This is an ongoing target, not a claim that every page and tool has been independently certified as conforming.

What We Have Done

We have taken the following steps to improve accessibility across this website:

  • Keyboard navigation: Interactive elements — navigation menus, search, links, and buttons — are designed for keyboard operation and are included in ongoing testing.
  • Skip navigation link:A “Skip to main content” link is provided by the main application layout, allowing keyboard and screen-reader users to bypass repeated navigation.
  • Semantic structure: Pages use proper HTML landmarks (<main>, <nav>, <footer>, <article>) so assistive technologies can navigate by region.
  • Form labels: Application forms are reviewed for visible and programmatically associated labels. Complex education tools remain an active testing area.
  • Color contrast: The design uses high-contrast foundations and automated plus human review is used to find regressions in individual components.
  • Focus indicators: Shared components include visible focus styles; route and tool testing checks for exceptions.
  • ARIA attributes: Interactive components use appropriate ARIA attributes (aria-label, aria-expanded,aria-controls, aria-live) to communicate state changes to screen readers.
  • Image alternatives: Content workflows require text alternatives for meaningful images and empty alternatives or hidden treatment for decorative images.

Known Limitations

Some areas may still present barriers:

  • Complex education tools, generated reports, and same-origin embedded documents require continued keyboard, focus, zoom, screen-reader, and reduced-motion testing.
  • Some complex data tables and older generated educational documents are reviewed on an ongoing basis for header associations, reflow, and alternative formats.

Technical Information

Skin Trust is built with Next.js and uses semantic HTML5. We do not use accessibility overlay tools (such as AccessiBe or UserWay), which have been shown to create barriers rather than remove them. All accessibility improvements are implemented directly in code.

Feedback and Contact

We welcome feedback about the accessibility of Skin Trust. If you experience any barriers to access, or if you need information in an alternative format, please contact us:
